COVID NOTICE

It is with some considerable disappointment we are advising that the Island View Jazz Fest will not be staged in 2022, and instead is deferred to 2023.

The primary reason is the lack of certainty caused by COVID-19, in particular the Omicron variant which is on the cusp of escaping MIQ and spreading in the community. If we were to stay at orange on the traffic light system we could host the event, but with a change to red it would not be practical as that limits maximum guest numbers to 100. The latest message from the government is that community detection of Omicron is expected and it would trigger the entire country to move to red with 24 to 48 hours.

For those that have booked, please let us know what you would like to do:

  • If you have already paid (thank you), we recommend rolling your booking to 2023 as we will hold ticket prices at the 2022 level for you.

  • If you have booked but no deposit made, we can roll the booking to 2023, and/or you can come and enjoy the weekend anyway!

If you are the lead guest of a group booking, please pass this on to everyone in your team.

COVID has made it tough for musicians and we understand Roger Fox and other performers were really looking forward to coming for the Jazz Fest, but such things are outside our control and we must instead now look forward to 2023.

Please note that there will be an increase in ticket pricing for 2023 to reflect changing costs of hosting the event, currently anticipated to be $350 for the full 3-day pass for NZMCA and Goldcard holders.

Best Regards

The Jazz Festival Team
